The first three-month stage of the Ukrainian-Israeli project "Psychosocial Support in Time of War" has been completed.

The first three-month phase of the Ukrainian-Israeli project "Psychosocial Support in Time of War" has come to an end. The day before, an event was held to summarize the results of the first part of the project, organized within the framework of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program at the initiative of Olena Zelenska. In total, during the three months of the project, 3,304 individual consultations were provided in hospitals for hospitalized patients, their families, doctors and nurses. In addition, 162 group sessions were held for 1,129 people, including patients and doctors.

The project was launched in early January, when 57 Ukrainian specialists with basic medical or psychological education completed 94 hours of training sessions to learn crisis, military, extreme psychology, and first aid techniques. They started working in 14 medical institutions in Dnipro, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv Oblast.

Currently, they continue to apply the knowledge they have gained in their work with people who have suffered severe injuries or losses as a result of hostilities and have been in medical facilities for a long time. They also work with family members of military personnel to support them during the adaptation period.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners for their excellent cooperation during the project implementation. We are proud to be able to make our contribution and help restore mental health in these difficult times for every Ukrainian.

The project was implemented by the NGO "Barrier-Free" in cooperation with the Israeli Forum for International Humanitarian Aid IsraAID, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the health departments of Dnipro, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv regions, and the CO "COMMUNITIES REVIVAL".

In the future, the project will be scaled up to new medical facilities and expanded geographically.
