60 Ukrainian specialists were trained as part of the Psychosocial Support in Time of War project, which was conducted by IsraAID. IsraAID is a leading international non-governmental humanitarian organization based in Israel. IsraAID has more than 20 years of experience in providing mental health and psychological support services in communities facing crisis. Its teams of medical doctors, post-traumatic stress experts, community specialists, and other professionals have been actively involved in international responses to disasters and conflicts around the world. As of September 2022, IsraAID has responded to crises in more than 60 countries.
Each specialist has completed 58 hours of online and offline training and has already started working in medical institutions in Dnipro, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv region, 14 hospitals in total. Our specialists use the knowledge they have gained to help people who have suffered serious injuries or losses and their families, and help doctors learn stress resistance and burnout.
The National Mental Health Program, with the support of First Lady Olena Zelenska, creates a habit of taking care of one's mental health so that Ukrainians find a hidden source of strength in difficult times, and aims to create a system of psychological assistance and support within the state at all levels. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the NGO «Barrier-Free», the Israeli Forum for International Humanitarian Aid (IsraAID), and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Health Departments of Dnipro, Vinnytsia, and Kyiv Oblast within the framework of the National Mental Health Program with the support of First Lady Olena Zelenska and in partnership with the CO “Communities Revival”
